TI will focus on technology and international connections with a strong emphasis on inclusiveness for immigrant families, English Language Learners and Special Education students. It will begin with 106 (changed from 88) sixth graders (hopefully 132) in the Fall of 2012 and then increase one grade per year. <p>SUN, JANUARY 22    <strong>WINTER WORKSPACE: THE COMMUNITY STILL LIFE PROJECT WITH ADAM PARKER SMITH</strong></p>
<p>In this series of fun, community-based collaborative activities, participants work alongside <strong>Adam Parker Smith </strong>to create colorful paintings of large plants and flowers from life, using a variety of media. Over the course of three weeks, the artist collects, cuts and assembles the paintings from each workshop into a collaged bouquet. This drop-in program also takes place on January 29 and February 5. <em>Children ages five and older welcome with an adult</em>. Free with admission to the grounds.</p>

<p>A 28-acre public garden and cultural center overlooking the Hudson River  and Palisades, Wave Hill’s mission is to celebrate the artistry and legacy of its gardens and landscape, to preserve its magnificent views, and to explore human connections to the natural world through programs in horticulture, education and the arts.</p>

Walker, hosted some of the most memorable soirees of the Harlem Renaissance at her salon, The Dark Tower.  There she welcomed Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen, CVV, Florence Mills, Bert Williams, Paul Poiret and other celebrities, musicians, actors, artists and writers of the era. Bundles’ talk will give fascinating insight into A’Lelia Walkers role in founding the hair care line that made her mother famous and her patronage of the arts, as well as her glamorous lifestyle and renowned parties.
