This Saturday, May 21, Uber users can request to have clothing donations picked up and delivered to Goodwill free of charge in New York City
(NEW YORK CITY) – On Saturday, May 21, donors can open the Uber app and request a pickup for their gently-used clothing items to be delivered directly to a NYC Goodwill, free of charge!
Building on the success of donations on-demand in previous years, this year we will be extending coverage across all 5 boroughs, allowing Uber users to easily request a donation pickup.
Saturday, May 21, 2016
11am – 3pm
Here’s how it works:
1. Collect gently-used jackets, shirts, pants, blouses and other clothing items to donate to Goodwill
2. Enter promo code SPRINGCLEAN under ‘Promotions’ in your Uber app or sign up at get.uber.com/go/springclean to unlock the GIVE option
3. On Saturday, May 21, open the Uber app, set pickup location, and select the GIVE option on the bottom of the screen to request
4. An Uber SUV will arrive to pick up clothing bags, and your driver will drop-off your donations to Goodwill
Available in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island
Donations will be dropped off at various Goodwill stores across New York City
-All clothing must be bagged for drivers to accept donations
-Drivers will arrive at requested pickup locations. Donors are responsible for bringing bags outside as drivers cannot leave their vehicles unattended
-For those who have already completed their spring cleaning and donations, or live in areas where Uber isn’t available, monetary donations can be made to Goodwill at http://give.goodwill.org
