Easter comes very early this year. March 27th, to be exact. So we pulled together some decorations we already had and mixed them with some goodies from Oriental Trading to give some simple and fun Easter ideas. We created our little display using platters and items we already had, mixed with some inexpensive decor we’ve picked up over the last few weeks. For the children’s activities, we turned to Oriental Trading because they have such a huge supply of holiday themed crafts and decor- and since many of their items come in packs of 12, you always have enough for everyone.
We love these Pastel Round Easter Baskets, which come with a dozen baskets in assorted pastel colors. These are great for Easter egg hunts or for taking home dyed Easter Eggs. We also use these every year at an annual Easter event that a friend hosts in her community garden. At only $5.99 per dozen, it’s affordable even if you need several orders.
For a fun craft, we went with these adorable Racing Easter Bunny Craft Kits, which also comes in a set of 12. We loved this idea because it gives the kids something they can play with after, and with no paint or glue involved, there’s no risk of dirtying that pretty Easter dress.
You definitely don’t have to spend an arm and a leg on holiday decor or activities for kids. It’s easy to use what you have and add in a few items each season. And of course always check Oriental Trading for what you’re looking for- each time we are surprised at the variety of items they carry.
