Hop off The Bronx Trolley at the Bronx Museum and hear Lonnie Harrington discuss his book Both Sides of the Water: Essays on African-Native American Interactions. Situating cross-cultural interactions in their historical, social, and political contexts, Both Sides of the Waterexamines the relationship between indigenous people of the Western Hemisphere and people of African descent.

First Fridays! Urban Evolution

Urban Evolution lives again! Bronx Museum Community Advisory Council member MiRi Park, aka b-girl Seoulsonyk, brings the ultimate loft performance party to the Bronx. Born 12 years ago in SoHo, Urban Evolution welcomes contemporary dancers, hoofers, b-girls, and New York Hustlers, and will showcase a variety of dance styles with something for everyone to enjoy. Produced in collaboration with the Bronx Museum Community Advisory Council.

What is the marketplace? Is it more than just a place to buy and sell goods? Explore the role of art in the marketplace by creating artwork inspired by Terence Gower’s Superpuesto, a temporary pavilion commissioned by the Bronx Museum of the Arts in collaboration with the Andrew Freedman Home for Beyond the Supersquare.

Come join us for an afternoon filled with activities for the entire family! Free for children 12 and under with parent(s) or guardian.

For Open House New York, a Bronx Museum Artist Educator will also offer guests a short tour of our Beyond the Supersquare exhibition, which explores the indelible influence of Latin American and Caribbean modernist architecture on contemporary art; our award-winning 16,000 sq. ft. North Wing designed by Arquitectonica; and SuperPuesto, a temporary pavilion by Terence Gower commissioned by The Bronx Museum of the Arts in collaboration with the Andrew Freedman Home for Beyond the Supersquare.

Fall Senior Luncheon

The Bronx Museum of the Arts cordially invites guests 55 and older to the Fall Senior Luncheon. Join us for a delightful afternoon with free tours of the Museum’s exhibitions, live entertainment, and lunch with friends, all free of charge.
