2014 Amazing Bronx River Flotilla and the Starlight 5K Canoe Challenge

On Saturday, May 17 the Bronx River Alliance will host our 15th Annual Amazing Bronx River Flotilla and 2nd Annual Starlight 5K Canoe Challenge at Starlight Park.

Kick off the paddling season featuring canoe trips for every age and skill level, music, learn-to-ride bicycle clinics, walking tours, and more!

Canoe for a great cause! This year’s Flotilla starts off with our 2nd annual Starlight 5K Canoe Challenge. Help us make canoeing accessible to over 1,000 kids and their families this season. Twelve teams will participate in a friendly relay race competition, while fundraising for a great cause. Proceeds will help us make canoeing available to youth and their families, and help keep the river accessible and navigable for hundreds more paddlers to enjoy.

All can come cheer on the racers and enjoy an afternoon of FREE activities. After the canoe race, we will kick off an afternoon of festivities as we mark the beginning of paddling season at Starlight Park with music, food, and public paddling (see scheudle of activities below).
