On September 15, 2012, Samaritan Village’s Highbridge Residential Treatment Program will host the agency’s 9th Annual Health Fair/Block Party. The Health Fair/Block Party will take place on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between 170th Street and Boscobel Place in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx. Samaritan Village hosts this festive event as a way to engage its neighbors and “give back” to the community by promoting health and wellness information to area residents. Clients and employees of the Highbridge facility will serve as volunteers for the event. Special invited guests include: Tino Hernandez, President/CEO of Samaritan Village and Council Member Helen Foster, who will be publicly acknowledged for her ongoing support of the event.
The day will consist of free community health screenings and education by partner agencies, live entertainment, healthy refreshments, and a children’s carnival including magicians, balloon animals and face painting.
