Not too long ago BronxMama shared a flyer for the Battle of the Boroughs contest. Well, those representing their boroughs have been narrowed down and the Bronx show is this Friday! Check out some information about some of the contenders:

Bethany Davis – pop, R&B

Originally from CA, this Haitian/Cherokee singer has been named “Who’s Next” by VH1 and has opened for Trey Songz. Her single, “You can Make It” was the most requested single on 106.3 last summer.

The KI KI Experience – alternative, rock, funk and soul

This group recently sold out their performance at the Apollo Theater’s Music Café, with the series’ highest turnout to date.

FINOTEE – rock, reggae. Founded by two best friends who re-connected 15 years later and formed a band.
Just A Lil Bit – funk, latin, jazz. From South Bronx
Pascale – indie rock. From Soundview, Pascale also works as a nonprofit youth counselor for homeless LGBT youth
Mala Reignz – hip hop. Has a framed $5 bill up from her first music sale.

The Bronx Battle of the Boroughs will be this Friday, April 1st at 7pm at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC (44 Charlton Street (at Varick Street). Tickets available online. You can also see the Live Video Webcast at www.wnyc.org/thegreenespace
